Used Cooking Oil
Definition and Classification
Used Cooking Oil typically refers to oil waste generated during cooking, food production, and consumption in households, the catering industry, and food processing enterprises that has lost its edible value. Based on source and properties, it can be classified into the following categories:
1.Swill Oil: Oil extracted and separated from leftovers, swill, and food scraps. It contains large amounts of impurities like food residues, sediment, and animal hair, and has high levels of microorganisms and heavy metals, representing the poorest quality.
2.Waste Frying Oil: Oil used in food frying processes that, due to high temperatures, oxidation, etc., has increased acid value and degraded quality, making it no longer suitable for consumption. While it has relatively fewer impurities, it contains significant amounts of oxidation products.
3.Gutter Oil: Oil originating from grease traps and sewers. It has a complex composition, mixing not only oil but also sewage, detergents, garbage, etc., and may contain toxic and hazardous substances.
